Christmas Kickoff 2012

With the Parade of Trees auction coming up on November 23rd, the Sidney High School Key Club has taken the time to decorate their tree that will be up for auction. This year’s Key Club consists of about 30-35 students, which delegated a committee responsible for this year’s tree decorating. The committee decided upon was Jesse Staffanson, Heather McDonald, Amy Bieber, Michaela Lofthus and Amy Schaffer. The committee got together Thursday, the 8th to decorate their tree. They chose the theme “White Christmas” for their tree, which is on display in the Village Square Mall.

Awards will be given in the following categories: Mayor’s Choice, Children’s Choice, People’s Choice, Best in Show, Most Unique, Best Non-Tree Entry and Best Use of Theme which is “Charlie Brown Christmas.” Voting was held November 12th through the 15th, with awards given out the 16th. Winners will receive a plaque and recognition in the newspapers.

All trees will be auctioned off the night of the Christmas Stroll, November 23rd at 6pm at the Village Square Mall.

The fundraiser is held annually to benefit the Boys & Girls Club, the Family Resource Center, Key Club and BPA.
