MicroTel Inn & Suites, Sidney Open For Business

MicroTel Inn & Suites, Sidney, welcomed its first guests on April 27, 2012. Since then the motel has been providing exceptional comfort and service to an almost capacity clientele. The motel, which is located at 1500 S. Central Avenue, features 76 rooms, 12 of which are suites, 46 are standard with two queen beds, 12 are singles, plus there is one handicap suite, a handicap single and three handicap standard rooms. MicroTel modeled its motels after the European style, with smaller rooms at a reasonable price. Twelve of those rooms are available, but the North American market demanded more space so the company as a whole decided to add standard rooms as well. Those rooms are spacious and include many amenities including high speed wireless internet and HD TVs with satellite.

A welcoming lobby provides relaxing space and includes a fireplace and television. A deluxe continental breakfast is served every morning and the coffee is always on.

MicroTel guests can relax in the pool or hot tub any time of the day, or get a workout in the fitness room. The pool is also available for parties with a room rental. Laundry facilities are located on the 2nd and 4th floors, and there is a sundries shop as well.

The Sidney motel has some unique features including the maroon exterior paint. Approval was required from Wyndam, and fortunately, they decided it would look good here. The motel also has a locker room for guests to store extra items, such as work clothes and boots. Each locker features a boot warmer. There are also washers and dryers in that room.

MicroTel is owned by Presidential Hospitality under franchise agreement with Wyndam Worldwide which is one of the biggest hotel groups in the world, encompassing many well known brand names. Guests can earn Wyndam Rewards points by staying at any of their hotels world wide.

MicroTel has recorded a fairly full occupancy rate of 80 to 100% Monday through Wednesday. Tuesday through Sunday is slower, with a 40-70% occupancy rate. Contrary to popular belief, rooms are available in Sidney, particularly on the weekends. MicroTel’s weekend rate is $119 for a standard room with 2 queen beds. That rate is subject to availability.
