Eden Atwood Quartet to Perform Oct. 4

The Northeastern Arts Network presents the Eden Atwood Quartet on Thursday, October 4th at 7:00 pm as part of their Big Sky Concert Series.

A fine interpreter of lyrics, Eden Atwood started off her jazz career with a series of excellent recordings for Concord Records. Raised in Montana, Atwood studied drama and musical theatre at college and also attended the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago. Although she worked as a model and an actress, Atwood has focused her attentions on singing; she made her debut in New York in 1992 and sings in a style somewhere between jazz and cabaret. Smooth, saucy, seductive, or soaring, describes just a taste of what Eden’s rich vocal palette brings to the stage. Eden has performed all over the world sharing bills with Gene Harris, Joshua Redman and Toshiko Akiyoshi Big Band. She has been featured on NPR’s Piano Jazz with Marian McPartland and Ms. McPartland appears on three tracks of Eden’s CD ‘There Again’. Starbucks Coffee, Eddie Bauer and Brooks Brothers have all put tracks of Eden’s on their compilation CD’s along side Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, and Nancy Wilson.
