The annual Field Day in Sidney, Montana will be held Thursday, July 19th, 2012. Coffee and rolls will be available at 8:30 am (MDT).
The field tour will begin at 9:15 am. MSU, NDSU, and USDA-ARS research staff, extension specialists, cooperating farmers and industry representatives will lead discussions on the following topics:
Water table measurement & monitoring
Weed control in Roundup ready sugarbeet crops
Sugarbeet research at EARC
Sugarbeet varieties & management
Irrigation Research
Dryland/irrigated small grain varieties
Pulse crop production
Certified seed program
Cover crop species in dryland systems
Cropping sequences & residue management
Private and commercial applicator credits will be awarded to those who attend EARC’s field day.
A noon lunch will be served and sponsored by local agri-businesses.
A Pesticide Container Recycling truck will be taking recycled containers starting at 1 pm. Containers must be clean (Triple-rinsed or power-rinsed). Lids, label booklets, rubber gaskets, and metal handles must be removed. 30 and 55 gallon containers must be cut twice vertically and once horizontally. 250 gallon totes must be cut in pieces no larger than 2 feet by 2 feet.
The general public as well as all ag producers are cordially invited to attend and participate in the EARC Field Day activities one mile north of Sidney, MT on Highway 200.
