Lottery Recognizes Local Businesses

The Montana Lottery is recognizing two Eastern Montana businesses with the Silver Anniversary Retailer Award, a special distinction for Lottery retailers with 25 years of service to the Lottery.

Reynolds Market, located at 1151 S. Central Ave., and Loaf n’ Jug #712, located at 706 S. Central, both of Sidney, are two of only 99 Montana businesses to be Lottery retailers since the Lottery’s first day of operation in 1987. There are more than 800 retailers statewide today.

“As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we are also celebrating our retailers,” Lottery Director Angela Wong said. “We owe so much of our success to our network of dedicated retailers.”

Ronald, manager at Reynolds said, “It’s just a lot of fun for people. We sell a ton of tickets.”

Larry, manager of Loaf n’ Jug, said, “People are excited to buy tickets, and the Harley-Davidson game has been very popular. Mega Millions is very popular and tickets skyrocket when the prize gets high.”

The Lottery is celebrating its 25th anniversary the entire month of June with drawings for cash, merchandise and tickets through the Player’s Club at montanalottery.com.

The Montana Lottery was created by referendum in 1986. In the past 25 years it has paid out over $428 million in prizes to players and returned more than $193 million to the State of Montana.
