The Montana Cattlewomen (MCW) will hold their Mid-Year Meeting on May 31 at the Yogo Inn in Lewistown beginning at 9 a.m. The Montana Beef Council will give a factual presentation on “lean finely textured beef” which has received national media attention as “pink slime.” The group is also kicking off its 60th Anniversary Celebration.
To mark their 60th anniversary, the CattleWomen are putting together a brands quilt with the help of Linda Logsdon who created a special brands quilt to mark the 125th Anniversary of the Montana Stockgrowers Association. “I’m sure this one will be as spectacular as the one she did for the Stockgrowers,” said Vicki Olson, MCW president. “Anyone wanting a brand on the quilt must contact us by Mid-Year to get a spot reserved.” MCW President-Elect Wanda Pinnow is heading the quilt project.
