The Best Western Golden Prairie Inn in Sidney opened its doors on Sunday, April 1. Manager Bryce Baker, along with his friendly, knowledgable staff and a spacious well appointed lobby welcome you as you walk in the automatic front doors. Guests can check into one of 72 large oversized rooms, including 16 suites. The rooms feature fantastic mattresses and lots of living space with a homey feel. Some rooms have couches and all are equipped with 37” TVs and cable. Handicap accessible rooms are also available.
After check in, enjoy a dip in the heated swimming pool or relieve the day’s stress with a relaxing soak in the hot tub. Start your day with a workout in the well equipped fitness room and then let your nose lead you to the hot breakfast buffet which is served from 6 to 10 a.m. Enjoy breakfast sandwiches or burritos, eggs, bacon or sausage, potatoes, cold cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit and much more. “It’s a $10 breakfast, free with your room,” stated Baker.
Stay connected with computers and free wireless access in a private area of the lobby. Golden Prairie Inn is excited to announce the addition of Uniguest which will allow guests to work on their laptop in their room and then print securely in the lobby.
Baker moved to Sidney from Fairfield, MT, bringing with him eight years of hotel management experience. He enjoys the whole hospitality experience. “It gets in your blood,” he said enthusiastically. “You get to meet incredible people with really great stories to tell.” His family will join him in Sidney as soon as school gets out this spring. He’s also pleased with his staff which numbers between 18 to 25 people, depending on occupancy. “We have a great staff. They’re friendly and truly care. It’s all about the people. We want to keep them coming back,” Baker said.
Baker also expressed deep appreciation to the local people. “It feels like Fairfield,” he said. ”Everyone has been so pleasant and helpful. We have had absolutely no negative encounters. They care about business growth and us as people.” He had nothing but praise for his general contractor, Markovich Construction. “They worked really hard to build a beautiful property and to get us open on time. All the local contractors were also terrific.”
