Training Announcement: Drug Endangered Children

The Richland County Health Department (RCHD), in combination with the MT Division of Criminal Investigation, will be hosting ‘Drug Endangered Children’ April 25, 2012.

Session 1 - 12:30 to 4:30 – Bring your Lunch (snacks will be provided by RCHD)

Session 2 - 5pm to 9pm - a light dinner will be provided by RCHD

NOTE: Participants only need to attend one of the above sessions.

The free training will take place at the Richland County Health Department Conference Room, 2nd floor of the Community Services Building located at 1201 W Holly in Sidney.

To RSVP please call 433-2207 & let Julie Brodhead know which session you are planning on attending in order to get a head count for set up and food. Space is limited to 50. Deadline is April 20th.

Target audience is Law Enforcement Officers, Dispatchers, Prosecutors, Probation Officers, Child and Family Service workers, Day Care Providers, Teachers, Child Protection Team Members, Counselors, Nurses, Health Care Professionals, Health Department Staff, Foster Parents and anyone who works with families or children.  It will be based upon collaboration between several professions.

The instructor is Jeff Faycosh from the Montana Division of Criminal Investigation.

The class will last 4 hours and will be Montana and North Dakota POST certified for Law Enforcement Officers; and qualifies for Early Childhood Project Annual Approved Training for daycare providers.

Goals are to make participants able to:

1. Understand the response and explain how to identify the DEC,

2. Understand when to intervene and how to work as a team for the benefit of the child.

3. Identify types of drugs and the effects of the drugs on parents and caregivers
