The Sidney Area Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture will host an exciting new event this year: the Bakken Brew Fest, scheduled for Saturday, March 10 at the Richland County Fair Event Center. Doors open at 7 p.m. and ticket holders will then enjoy an evening of tasting new microbrews, sampling hearty hors d’oeuvres, and listening to live music provided by the Clintons from Bozeman. The event will feature over 25 microbrews on tap, developed by regional breweries.
“Attendees will have the opportunity to sample many different microbrews,” says Cami Skinner, Sidney Chamber president and one of the organizers of this event. “Most of the breweries represented are from Montana. The Ranger Lounge will cater the food, which will complement the beers on tap.”
She adds, “Everyone who attends will receive a signature beer tasting glass bearing the Bakken Brew Fest logo.”
The Clintons, a band from Bozeman, will provide music for listening and dancing. “The Clintons have a pop rock/country flavor,” Skinner comments. “We’ll have tables set out at the Event Center but we’ll also have a dance floor so people can dance if they wish.”
The idea for this event came from many sources. The Chamber took the various ideas and organized them into this new event, the Bakken Brew Fest. Members also decided to use the new event as a venue to give something back to the community.
“We received lot of interest from multiple people to host an event like this,” Skinner comments. “The brew fest is a great setting to bring people together, while also providing the Chamber with an opportunity to return something to the community. This year a portion of the event proceedings will benefit the Sherry Arnold Scholarship Fund.”
Skinner urges people to purchase tickets in the near future as the Chamber will limit the number of attendees. “The response has been phenomenal so far,” she says. “Since we will only sell a limited number of tickets, don’t delay in your purchase. General admission costs $50 per person, and we also offer VIP tables of eight or ten people.”
People can obtain more information about VIP tables from the Sidney Chamber, 406-433-1916.
Interested people can purchase tickets from the Chamber and from the Ranger Lounge in Sidney.
