2011-2012 Sidney High School Speech and Drama Team competed at the CCDHS Invitational, Miles City, meet on Saturday, Nov. 12.
The competition was fierce with the Sidney Speech and Drama Team coming out on top in Sweeps Class A sweeping the meet with the 1st place trophy.
The Sidney Invitational Speech and Drama was held on Saturday, Nov. 19, Sidney Drama Team took 1st place in Sweeps Class A while the Sidney Speech team took 2nd. After three rounds of competition, Sidney’s entire team advanced to the FINAL round.
Speech team results, led by Gail Staffanson, are: Tori Hill: 1st, Memorized Public Address; 2nd, Humorous Oral Interp; Jessie Staffanson: 5th, Memorized Public Address; Ariana Gaskin: 6th, Serious Oral Interp; Kalen Hance: 4th, Extemporaneous; Michael Waddell : 1st, Impromptu; Kyle Smith: 3rd, Impromptu; Brant Pewonke: 8th, Impromptu.
Drama team results, led by Christy Pierce, are: Taylor Fay: 1st, Serious Solo; Ciara Parks/Taylor Fay: 2nd, Classical Duo; Carl Redman: 2nd, Humorous Solo; Lexie Brunsvold/John Elmore: 6th, Humorous Duo; Katie Staffanson/Kelsey Halvorson: 3rd, Serious Duo; Michaela Lofthus/Amy Schaffer: 4th, Serious Duo.
