The MonDak Area Stockgrowers Association will host its annual meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at the Sidney Country Club. The social begins at 5:30 p.m., with the dinner and meeting to follow at 6 p.m. Dinner will cost $10 per plate for those who renew their memberships at that time and $15 per plate for all others. The executive committee urges all cattlemen to attend and to have a voice in the beef industry.
The evening will include talks by several knowledgeable people in the industry. Agenda speakers include Jerry Effertz, Velva, ND rancher; Jason Schmidt, North Dakota Stockgrowers Association president; Errol Rice, Executive Montana Stockgrowers Association executive vice president; and Lauren Chase, Montana Stockgrowers Association multimedia outreach specialist.
Keynote speaker Jerry Effertz, Effertz Black Butte Acres, has raised purebred Limousin cattle since 1969. Effertz has been actively involved in the cattle industry by serving with the North Dakota Beef Commission and North Dakota State Board of Agriculture Research and Education chairman. He has recently expanded his cattle business by establishing Effertz Black Butte Adventures that includes agricultural tours, hiking, biking and camping.
Effertz enjoys traveling both nationally and internationally to support and promote the cattle industry. He will present an interesting talk during the annual meeting.
The agenda also includes the annual awards and officer elections.
