Thinking About An eReader For Christmas?

Learn How To Use It At Your Library

eReaders are going to be a hot item this holiday season, and it’s never been cheaper to get into the world of electronic and audio books. Just $79 will get you a brand new Kindle from Amazon, but you may be wondering which eReader you really want, or how to download audio and eBooks after you open the package. That’s why the Sidney-Richland Public Library is offering a Tech Tuesday all about eReaders at the library Nov. 22 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. They’ll cover the features of the different readers on the market, and how to use them with Montana Library2Go, where you can use your library card to check out eBooks for free without even visiting the library.

Patrons at the Sidney-Richland County Public Library have access to a statewide catalog of over 10,000 eBook and audio titles through Montana Library2Go, which will grow substantially in the coming months. If you want to know how to access this catalog with your current eReader, or you’d like some information and the chance to see several of the major models in action, you should come to this free class. They’ll cover how to access Overdrive (the Montana Library2Go software) on Apple devices (like the iPad), Android phones and tablets, and the Kindle, and have examples of each on hand so that you can check them out. They’ll also give you a comparison chart to take home so you can figure out the perfect eReader for yourself and your family or friends. If you already have an eReader, feel free to bring it along. We’ll have time for questions and answers and be able to help you out if you’re having problems accessing Overdrive.

The library is excited to offer audio and eBooks to their patrons, so they hope you’ll join them on Nov. 22 for this session to learn more about eReaders just before Black Friday makes them more affordable than ever. If you can’t make it though, don’t worry, they will be offering this session a few more times, in December and January so everyone has a chance to learn how to access Montana Library2Go. If you have questions, please contact them at 433-1917 or [email protected].
