The closing of Williston RV created an opportunity for an established, full service RV dealership to come in to the area. Coates RV, a family owned business in Minneapolis since 1938, recently expanded to Williston. The company sells travel trailers, 5th wheels and park models, and will soon be offering modular and mobile homes. The homes are being built in Elkhart, IN, specifically for Coates RV, to withstand the harsh MonDak climate.
Coates RV believes in doing things right. Last year was a record year in the Minneapolis market. The company is already ahead of that for this year. “We must be doing something right, to have a record year, in Minnesota, in this economy. Our big focus is customer service. It’s what we do,” stated Williston Manager Dutch Deick.
“There are no surprises in our pricing,” he added. “We’re in line with our Minneapolis pricing, except of course, there’s more freight.” The Williston store also orders options that Minneapolis doesn’t, like the cold weather upgrades.
Coates RV offers SubZeroSolutions travel trailers. This cold weather RV is a specialty unit, exclusive to Coates RV, developed in collaboration with Salem. Space age technology has been utilized to create a thin reflective barrier which gives incredible R values: R54 ceiling, R45 walls and floor. When tested at -30º, for 72 hours, the inside temperature maintained at 70º using only 4 lbs. propane. The SubZeroSolutions trailer is available in one and two bedroom units, features a dual furnace and all water and plumbing inside the unit. “It’s built for out here,” Deick said.
Coates RV is also the area’s exclusive Forest River dealer.
A huge showroom, parts and service building is currently under construction, and should be ready in November. A full time service technician is also on site.
The Mission Statement for Coates RV is “to have the highest percentage of Happy Campers in the RV industry”.
Deick is happy to be in Williston. “I love the outdoors. I’m a hunter and a fisherman. I’ve been going to northeastern Montana for many years and I love it here.” He was excited to leave Minnesota and says there’s no place he’d rather be. “The people here are wonderful,” Deick said. “They’re the greatest. They’ve been so welcoming.”
Because this is such an avid outdoor recreation area, Coates RV is sponsoring a huge indoor ice fishing expo this Friday-Sunday, Oct. 21-23 at the Raymond Family Community Center. The company has done shows such as this in Minnesota, and is excited about bringing this kind of fun family show to Williston. The show will feature lots of fish houses, tackle, equipment, electronics, ATVs, snowmobiles, vendors and food. Factory reps will be on hand to show their products and offer their expertise. Admission is FREE! Food will be available, with a free will donation going to Minot Flood Relief. Hours for the show are (CDT) 2-8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.–8 p.m. Saturday and noon–4 p.m. Sunday.
Bring the whole family and have some fun at the Ice Fishing Expo, and stop by Coates RV, 321 Gate Ave., Williston and check out all the RVs.
