Sidney Health Center Hosts Nursing Conference

Sidney Health Center hosted the MonDak All-Nursing Conference on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at the Richland County Fair Event Center, Sidney. More than 150 nurses from all over the MonDak region attended the conference.

Educational topics presented were “Beyond Bandages and Home Remedies” by Carolyn Hammer, RN, WOCN; “The Power of a Good Night’s Rest” by Rajohn Karanjai, MD, Internal Medicine; “Treating Cancer… One Size Does Not Fit All” by Jorge Nieva, MD, Oncology and Lyle Harrison, MD, Radiation Oncology; and “Common Symptoms with Uncommon Causes in Infants and Children” by George Scordalakes, MD, Pediatrician.

“We are excited to offer this opportunity to not only Sidney Health Center nursing staff, but also nurses from around the region,” stated Nancy Dynneson, Sidney Health Center nursing administrator. “Often nurses need to travel long distances to attend required educational seminars. Being able to provide quality presentations locally allows nurses to save on travel time and costs.”

In addition to the educational seminars, attendees were given an opportunity to shop at the vendor fair set up in an adjacent room. Vendors ranged from gourmet foods to jewelry to home décor. Lunch was also provided.

“We received positive feedback from those that attended and are extremely satisfied with the way things turned out,” said Theresa Livers, Sidney Health Center Continuum of Care administrator.
