The Sidney area flag football league is in need of volunteer referees for the fast-approaching 2019 season. Flag football has relied entirely on volunteer referees and coaches for nearly twenty years. The league is open for third and fourth grade students from all areas, and calls on community members to ensure the kids are able to play. On Saturday, August 17 starting at 10 a.m. the 6th Annual Matthew R. Brenner Memorial Scholarship Tournament will take place at Sidney Country Club in Sidney, MT. This tournament will be a four-person scramble, $100 per person with a chance to win $10,000. The Lone Tree Archers Club of Sidney will be hosting their annual 3-D archery shoot on Saturday, August 17, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday, August 18, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. The event will feature 24 3-D animal targets set up on the archery range, which is located about 8 miles southeast of Sidney. A team of German Wrestlers traveled to Montana this summer for exibition duals and a lot of fun. Each year there is a wrestling cultural exchange with Germany and Montana. The wrestling programs alternate years that the teams will travel to the host county. This year Germany traveled to Montana. Next year a Montana team will travel to Germany.
