This weekend Was the Sidney Tiger Sharks home Meet. There was over 300 swimmers in the Shark Tank! It was the biggest meet we have competed in this year. Sidney was victorious and had a great showing in the water. The swimmers cut a lot of time and are priming for Divisionals next weekend. We had 3 high point winners Braya Rake, Toby Kleinke and Corben Holler. The swim board and families did a fantastic job of organizing, putting together, and cleaning up after the meet. Thirteen-year-old Brielle Baxter, Fairview, qualified in the Central Prix Tae Kwon Do tournament, Fort Worth, TX, to compete in the Tae Kwon Do National Tournament, San Antonio, TX, Thursday-Sunday Aug. 5-8. She was entered in the 12-14-year-old cadet red belt heavyweight division in Fort Worth, but she was the only entrant in that division so she chose to fight an exhibition match with a light heavyweight. The Sidney Tiger Sharks had a great meet this weekend at Plentywood. They took 55 swimmers to Plentywood. It was a smaller meet, but the sharks looked strong in the water. Many swimmers cut a lot of time this weekend and are priming for a good showing for the upcoming Sidney meet and then divisionals in Lewistown the following weekend. There is high hopes for the swimmers and planning on all of them making it to State, especially if they continue to cut time the way they have been. Sidney Tiger Sharks competed in Glasgow this weekend. There were 44 swimmers sent from Sidney and took 1st overall. There were four high point winners: Braya Radke, Beckett Norby, Marett Schieber and Ella Norby. Swimmers cut some great time in the longer events this weekend. They are off to a great start. The Little Guy Camp featuring University of Minnesota will be held June 12-14 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 2-4 p.m. for beginners - 6th grade, at Sidney High School. The 1971 Sidney Eagle State Class A Champion basketball team is having a 50-year team reunion, Saturday evening, June 12 at VFW Club, Sidney. Braedon Gumke, Watford City, a Junior pole-vaulter at University of Jamestown qualified for the NAIA National Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a personal best vault of 4.80 meters (15 feet, 9 inches).
