Representatives from Richland Rangers Youth Hockey chose an opportune time to attend the Sidney Council meeting Monday, Sept. 16. Their request to the city was for the repair of the parking lot at the hockey facility which they said, and others agreed, was getting very bad. The Alexander High School Student Council will be hosting a 4-person team golf scramble tournament on Oct. 5 at Fox Hills Golf Course, Watford City. The registration per team is $500 and includes green fees, carts, and food. Various prizes will also be given. Proceeds will go to hosting school events and purchasing a mascot uniform. Sidney Tendo Taekwondo is excited to announce the return of Stephen Lambdin to Sidney, on Oct. 5 and 6. The Sidney High School golf team began their week with the junior varsity team traveling to Miles City for the Miles City JV Invitational on Monday, Sept. 16. The Attorney General is Montana’s chief law enforcement officer and leads the Montana Highway Patrol. The person who holds that position should know how to protect Montanans, support officers and understand our constitutional rights. Homecoming in Fairview was another successful game on the gridiron. The Warriors jumped out to an early lead and didn't look back. The first quarter score was 34-0 and expanded to 54-0 at halftime. The Fairview Warriors travelled to Culbertson Friday night to play the #8-ranked Cowboys. Fairview scored first with a short pass from Tyler Loan to Deacon Gackle for an 8-yard TD. Culbertson answered with a score of their own, but the PAT was blocked by Keegan Skogas making the score 7-6 in favor of the Warriors. The Sidney Eagle varsity golf team hosted the top ranked team in the state, the Laurel Locomotives, for a dual on Thursday, Sept. 12. The 2024 edition of "The War in Watford" saw two nights of near-capacity attendance at The Rough Rider Center, where fans from across the region took in the exciting pre-season matchup between heated NAHL rivals, the Bismarck Bobcats and Minot Minotauros. A passion for dirt racing runs deep in Landon Gaudreau. The son of Terry and Lindsay Gaudreau, Williston, Landon has been racing since he was 11, in the Coca-Cola Junior Slingshot series at the Williston Basin Speedway.
