The NDRA Championship Finals Rodeo will take place at the McKenzie County fairgrounds located in Watford City on Friday, Sept. 23 and Saturday, Sept. 24. The rodeo will start at 7 p.m. CT on Friday and 6 p.m. CT on Saturday. The Sharks did it again. They are back-to-back State champs and this coach couldn't be more proud. We had a great showing on Saturday and the majority made it to finals on Sunday. The Lone Tree Archers Club of Sidney will be hosting their annual 3-D archery shoot on Saturday, Aug. 13, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday, Aug.14, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. The event will feature 24 3-D animal targets set up on the archery range, which is located about eight miles southeast of Sidney. The Sidney Tiger Sharks are the 2022 Easterns Divisional Swim Champs. It was a great weekend in Plentywood with many Sharks swimming at their best times. The weather on Saturday was wild with hot 100° weather in the morning to a storm fierce enough to stop the meet after the 13-14 back strokers swam. A small handful of Tiger Sharks made it to the Malta swim meet July 9-10, we had a total of 9 1/3 since Madycen Sanders could only swim 1 event before leaving for other commitments. This summer, the Svarre Municipal pool will be full of swimmers of all ages, abilities, purposes, and desires. For the Tiger Sharks, Sidney's swim team, their ability to use the pool to host swim meets is in danger. The Sidney Tiger Sharks is a 95-person swim team of kids aged 5-19.
