    The Watford City Oiler's Girls 12 & Under team won the North Dakota state hockey tournament March 9-11 in Devils Lake. The 13 Watford City girls that make up the team have been playing hockey at their best since Nov. 11, 2022. Months of travel, playing on the weekends, and after school from the Rough Rider Center to rinks as far as Devils Lake came to a culmination in February. They did not have to win any certain number of games as every team in the league qualifies for the state...

    Sidney High School made history last Friday. On March 24, the Sidney High School Boys Baseball team took the field for the first time, traveling to Columbus, MT.     This year, for the first time, both the boys’ and girls’ NDAHA State Hockey Tournaments will be held in Watford City the same year. The tournaments start March 2 at noon and go through March 5 at the Rough Rider Center. Watford City has been the host of NDAHA hockey tournaments before, but always just for the boys or the girls. The NDAHA state planning committees and clubs plan which town will host the tournaments at the beginning of the year.
