The #1 ranked Fairview Warriors played the 4-2 Scobey Spartans at Starr Field, Fairview, Friday night. The Warriors scored twice in the first quarter for a 14-0 lead. The Sidney High School Close-Up Program will be hosting their annual Powder Puff flag football game fundraiser on Sunday, Oct. 13. The kickoff is at 5:45 p.m. at the Swanson football field. Sidney Country Club is excited to announce the installation of golf simulators in the club house with both league and open play available. Tentative hours of operation are 7-11 a.m. and 2-7 p.m. seven days a week. Leagues will start at 5:30 p.m. with men's on Mondays and Thursdays and ladies' on Tuesdays. On Friday, Oct. 4, the Sidney High School golf team began round one of the State A golf tournament in Polson with a late start due to a frost delay. After round one, the Eagle boys were in sixth place after shooting a team score of 326. Tanner Tiesen led the way after shooting his lowest round of the year with a 76. He was tied for 11th. The Sidney High School Golf Team had an excellent day on Friday, Sept. 27 at the Eastern A Divisional meet in Laurel. Both of the girls' and boys' teams took home third place and will compete next week at the State A tournament in Polson. The boys shot a team score of 336 and had two players finish in the top 15 to earn All-Conference honors: Brady Collins in 3rd place with a 77, and Kalen Price in 15th place with an 84. The Alexander High School Student Council will be hosting a 4-person team golf scramble tournament on Oct. 5 at Fox Hills Golf Course in Watford City. The registration per team is $500 and includes green fees, carts, and food. Various prizes will also be given. The proceeds will go to hosting school events and purchasing a mascot uniform. Once again, the Warriors were prolific on offense jumping to a 20-0 first quarter lead and extending that to 40-0 at halftime. The final score ended up 52-12 Warriors. In the Boys division, Carter Heggum placed 85th in over 400 runners with the time of 17:7.3. Dyson Romo placed 286 with the time of 19:05.5.
