The Sidney High School Speech and Drama Team was in Havre, MT Saturday, Jan. 26th for the Class A State Meet. A number of the team members did well, including Kalen Hance who proved he was a force to be reckoned with. Hance was undefeated all season, and claimed State Champion in Extemp. Heather McDonald took 7th in Memorized Public Address, which is pretty good considering it is her first season with the team. Sidney High School is hosting the Class “C” District Boys and Girls Basketball Tournament, starting on Monday, February 11th, and continuing to the Final games on Saturday, February 16th. A total of 24 games will be contested over that six day time span. The tournament is in need of helpers in scorekeeping, and score clock operation for the tourney. The wrestlers hit the road on Thursday evening for a dual in Tioga against the coop of Stanley/Powers Lake/Tioga-Ray. The Wolves were able to get out to an early lead thanks to a 7-2 decision won at 106 pounds by Jade Hepper, a pin at 126 pounds by Coleton Jore and a pair of back to back forfeit wins by Clay Jorgenson and Kyle Cook respectively at 132 and 138 pounds. 23 Eagles graduate, Chuck Rossol, begins his first season as head coach for the Williston Coyote wrestling team with high expectations of bringing home hardware. Rossol wrestled for Eagles coach, Guy Melby, until he graduated in 1994 and then wrestled as a walk on for South Dakota State University.
