The first annual Sidney Tennis Tournament is currently underway. It began Aug. 11 and goes until Sept. 29. Matches take place at the tennis courts which are located by the skate park. Matches are held Sunday nights from 6-9 p.m. There are also two Friday nights of play: Aug. 30, and Sept. 6. This tournament is a project to promote the sport of tennis in Sidney. The JCI Richland County Annual Demolition Derby will be Saturday, Aug. 17 at the Richland County Fairgrounds at 5:30 p.m. General admission is $15, students ages 8-17 are $10, the senior citizen discount is $12, and ages five and under are free. The Flory family has been involved with the Williston Basin Speedway since its earliest beginnings, and their grandfather was the head flag man until his passing. The GRO basketball camp will be offered in Lambert Thursday and Friday, June 28-29. This will be for any students going into grades 3-12. This nationally recognized camp serves 26 states and will be put on by guest presenter Ro Wiggin.
