Test flows from Fort Peck Dam will be at 10,000 cubic feet per second through mid-June, according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. On April 29, the Sidney Police Department arrested William Thomas Garrad, 32, Sidney, in relation to the string of vehicle break-ins in Sidney over the last few months. Garrad was charged with two counts of criminal possession of dangerous drugs, both felonies; one count of criminal possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor; one count of theft of property exceeding $5,000 or common scheme, a felony; and one count of burglary, a felony. In an effort to bolster the supply of newly constructed homes, Watford City has passed the Homeowner’s Two-year Property Tax Exemption, approved by the City Council on April 1. This new program, in compliance with N.D.C.C. § 57-02-08(35), allows a property tax exemption for a maximum of $150,000 in dwelling value; exclusive of the land on which the home is situated or any special assessments.
