    Two special workshops are planned as part of the 2013 Sidney ARS Dryland Field Day set for this Friday from 9 am to noon, including a special sprayer calibration workshop, as well as a recap of the March 5th “Pipeline Reclamation Workshop” held in Sidney this past winter.     Heavy spring rains in portions of the state have probably increased yield potentials but may also be increasing nutrient losses of nitrogen, sulfur and chloride.     Richland County 4-H clubs are holding fundraisers to earn money to build a new food booth at the Richland County Fairgrounds. The fundraising efforts are already underway and they include selling brand boards, memorial plaques and various other fundraising events conducted by the 4-H clubs in the area.     Agricultural producers have until June 7, 2013 to sign up for the 2011 Supplemental Revenue Assistance Program (SURE). The SURE program is part of the Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008 (Farm Bill). Under the 2008 Farm Bill, SURE authorizes assistance to farmers and ranchers who suffered crop losses caused by natural disasters occurring through September 30, 2011.
