A good walk or an exhilarating bike ride can often allow me to shed cares and worries, and also provides quiet time to think through problems that have plagued me and for which I can't seem to find any solutions Sometimes after wrestling with a problem or worry, I just get up, take a good walk or a bike ride, and the answer occurs to...

The Lower Yellowstone Wool Pool has been a great asset to area producers for many years. In case you are not familiar with the reason for the existence of a pool, its sole purpose is to gather wool from area sheep producers in one central location, grade said wool, and then combine that wool with other producers’ wool to make a larger shipment. By combining these graded pools of wool together, instead of one person trying to market their product, there is now a greater amount of wool being marketed at one time. This process of combining and g...

Oil spill response workers recovered approximately 240 barrels of crude oil from the Poplar Pipeline Tuesday. Workers recovered the oil from the south side of the Yellowstone River where the pipeline crosses about six miles upstream from Glendive, MT. Responders earlier had calculated the pipeline breach to have a worst-case discharge of up to 1200 barrels (50,000 gallons) of crude oil. Today’s recovery reduces the total that could have escaped into the river to about 960 barrels (or 40,000 gallons.) Drinking water is still being made a...

Immediately after the story broke in The Roundup on April 16, 2014 Richland Economic Development sprang into action, setting...
For some area residents, the convenience of turning on the faucet and enjoying a drinkable glass of water is now a refreshing reality following the recent completion of a water pipeline project by Dry-Redwater Regional Water Authority. It will also create a new flow of money from the users enabling DRWA to continue with other projects that have been in wait because of the lack of federal funding. The Sidney South pipeline went live on Sept. 15. The pipeline, a major victory for DRWA, is one of...
