Construction for the Bakken Area Skills Center kicked off with a groundbreaking ceremony July 18. This is a big step for the center as it has been in the works since 2016. On Saturday, July 16, community members gathered to see and use the Watford City Municipal Airport's new extended runway. The event celebrated the two-year project with a ribbon cutting, free airplane rides, BBQ, and aircrafts.
