A three vehicle multi-injury crash occurred June 6 at approximately 2:39 p.m. CT on Hwy. 23 at approximately 14 miles west of New Town. A 1969 Ford Mustang with its left turn signal activated was stopped near the fog line facing west waiting to make a left turn off Hwy. 23 onto a gravel road. The Ford Mustang was waiting for a 2022 Ford F-150 traveling east on Hwy. 23 before turning left onto the gravel road. A 2005 Nissan Murano was also traveling west on Hwy. 23 behind the Ford Mustang. The Sidney Patriots baseball team opened their season Saturday, June 1 with 1-1 conference record. They lost their first game versus the Laurel Dodgers, 11-2. In the third inning Cooper McNally hit a double and brought in one run. In the top of the fourth the Dodgers scored three runs.
