A Crop and Pest Management School on small grain crops will be held from Jan. 2 to 4 at the Burns Technology Center at Montana State University. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s North Dakota State Emergency Board reviewed and approved damage assessment reports for 16 North Dakota counties recently. The reports will now be sent on to Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack to support a potential disaster designation for those counties. As the December 31 deadline for tax reform looms, the Montana Farm Bureau is expressing urgency in solving the estate tax issue.
