    Sidney, MT – Sasha Marie Hinds, 30, made her initial appearance in court in Sidney at 10 a.m., March 29. Hinds appeared before Sidney City Court Judge Luke Savage who advised Hinds of the charges against her. Hinds requested a public defender, but declined to have a probable cause hearing.     Lower Yellowstone Irrigation Project has mailed land owner consent forms to owners of irrigated fields on the west side of the main canal within the Savage and LYIP Irrigation districts in order to get irrigation water rights officially recognized with the State of Montana. Even though irrigators have been using the water for decades, those water rights are not officially recorded with the state, which is currently going through the water adjudication process.
