Doug Kelly, Savage graduate of 1984, graciously and generously donated $45,000 to our school to be used for the sports programs. At the Jan. 23, 2023 board meeting the Board of Trustees took action to use this amazing donation to sand, paint, refinish, and design the logos of the gym floor. This donation could not have arrived at a better time, as we knew the redoing of the gym floor was a necessity and a huge expense. Sidney Moose Lodge donated one case of Tommy Moose Plush Dolls to the Roosevelt Medical Center EMS (Emergency Medical Services) on Jan. 2, 2023. Area citizens have been busy practicing for the 8th annual Sidney Area Community Christmas Concert. The concert is organized by Peggy Strupp and directed by the choir music teachers from Savage and Culbertson. The show is this Sunday, Dec. 4 at 3 p.m. at the Sidney Middle School. This year, to benefit Adopt a Senior's second year running in Sidney, Kayla Fox Wellness is offering classes in Sidney and Fairview as a fundraiser throughout November. Kayla Fox has worked with the senior community in Sidney for six years. Fox stated, "Seniors aren't able to get out much in the winter months and it affects their emotional state but they do enjoy connecting with people so this program creates companionship and friendly interactions. It all started this summer. Savage sugar beet producer Del Nollmeyer was experiencing chest discomfort while irrigating. After two weeks of tests, there was finally a diagnosis. “We were told we needed to go to Billings for an angiogram. It was there they found the blockage,” stated Del’s wife Kim. On Aug. 19, he underwent a single bypass open heart surgery. With beet harvest just around the corner Del and Kim were stuck. With almost perfect weather in the forecast, Sidney Sugars Incorporated is looking forward to a great start to the annual beet harvest.
