Milo John Wisness, 69, rural Keene, ND passed away at McKenzie County Hospital on Friday, Jan. 14, 2022, after a brief but valiant battle with cancer. He was a lifelong rancher and farmer who loved all aspects of that life. He was proud to be part of the farm and ranch his grandfather had homesteaded in rural Keene and that now passes onto the fourth generation. A premier San Francisco mural painter, Morgan Bricca, finished painting a 3D landscape mural inside Heritage Park Building, Watford City on Saturday, June 5. This mural is custom and a site-specific piece - Bricca wanted it to depict the landscape through the eyes of a pioneer. To honor lives lost to COVID-19, an area artist created a plan to support both artists and families who lost a loved one to the disease. Over 100 people in the MonDak area have died from COVID-19 related complications and Daphne Clark saw a need to remember each of those community members with a portrait, creating “The North Dakota COVID Portrait” Project.
