    This year, the McKenzie County Cowboys Association will be hosting the North Dakota Rodeo Association Championship Finals Rodeo at the McKenzie County Fairgrounds, Watford City on Friday, Sept. 24 and Saturday, Sept. 25. The rodeo will start at 7 p.m. on Friday and 6 p.m. on Saturday. The NDRA Rodeo will include a rodeo dance, The Mud Butte Band, a ranch rodeo, and vendors.     Watford City has a newly formed running organization called, "Running Free." The organization offers two run/walk events: A Suicide Awareness run in September and a Santa Run in December.     In 2019, The McKenzie County Job Development Authority (JDA) started a program designed to defray infrastructure costs for qualifying housing projects in McKenzie County: The JDA Housing Development Subsidy program. So far, 42 houses have been accepted into McKenzie County JDA Housing Development Subsidy Program as of June 11. This means that $125,000 remains to be allocated out of the program funding.
