Milo John Wisness, 69, rural Keene, ND passed away at McKenzie County Hospital on Friday, Jan. 14, 2022, after a brief but valiant battle with cancer. He was a lifelong rancher and farmer who loved all aspects of that life. A premier San Francisco mural painter, Morgan Bricca, finished painting a 3D landscape mural inside Heritage Park Building, Watford City on Saturday, June 5. To honor lives lost to COVID-19, an area artist created a plan to support both artists and families who lost a loved one to the disease. Over 100 people in the MonDak area have died from COVID-19 related complications and Daphne Clark saw a need to remember each of those community members with a portrait, creating “The North Dakota COVID Portrait” Project.
