This year at the Richland County Fair, 4-H members brought many market animals to show and sell. On Friday, August 4th, the 4-Hers with market animals participated in both the Showmanship and Market Animal class. Taking home grand champion ribbon in the Market Beef Division was Tyler Lien. U.S. Air Force Air National Guard Airman Mark A. Evenson graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Richland County 4-H has 12 amazing clubs that have been participating all year in many different 4-H events. Within the 12 clubs we have 224 members, including Cloverbuds and 136 adult volunteers. The Three Buttes 4-H club mowed and cleaned up St. Theresa Cemetery in Lambert for the summer as a community project. The members brought lawn mowers, weed eaters, and clippers that were convenient for getting the tricky grass around the flowers and making the cemetery have a clean and neat, finished appearance. The Sidney High School boys track team came home champions from the Montana State Class A track meet held in Laurel May 26 & 27. The boys were escorted through town Sunday morning by the fire truck, ambulance and police. The last time the Sidney boys brought home a state championship was in 1959.
