The 2022 sugar beet harvest wrapped up last week with both tonnage and sugar content coming in lower than expected. According to Sidney Sugars agricultural manager Duane Peters, the yield was unusually field specific with highs and lows in individual fields rather than in an overall area. Born Dec. 24, 1940, Barb was the second of four children of German immigrants Elizabeth Langwald Weber and Joseph Weber. A 45-year-old Sidney man, Joshua Entzel, was involved in a motorcycle rollover, 3 miles north of Cartwright Sept. 29 at 8:08 p.m. CST. The 2016 Indian motorcycle was traveling southbound on Cty. Rd 16 and failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. Entzel lost control, entered the ditch and rolled. Entzel was taken to Sidney Health Center by Fairview Ambulance.
