A longstanding tradition at the Richland County Fair has been a day sponsored by local co-ops to serve their patrons with free root beer floats. Sue Duffey, a Fairview resident, opened up a Children's Exchange Library on the corner of 7th Street and South Central Avenue in Fairview. It is open all day throughout the summer for children of all ages. "After learning that Fairview does not have a library, I wanted to start something that would encourage children to read throughout the summer. The Sidney High School boys track team came home champions from the Montana State Class A track meet held in Laurel May 26 & 27. The boys were escorted through town Sunday morning by the fire truck, ambulance and police. The last time the Sidney boys brought home a state championship was in 1959.
