The MonDak Heritage Center welcomed two new employees to their staff on Tuesday, Oct. 11. Nikki Bailey is the new executive director. The position had been vacant for a considerable amount of time. She is a Montana native and grew up in Fort Benton, near Great Falls. She got a Masters degree from Montana State University-Bozeman in agriculture education with a focus on relations. The Richland County Food Bank is quickly settling in to its new home at 517 E. Main, Sidney. In just 1 1/2 days on Sept. 19 & 20, food bank staff, with massive help from the City of Sidney, LDS elders, Boy Scout Troop 141, and employees of EOG transferred freezers, shelving and food items. On Monday, Dec. 26 at approximately 6:29 p.m. CST on Hwy 85 mile marker 177 approximately 6 miles south of Williston, ND there was a head on collision that resulted in a fatality. A 2008 Ford F-150, driven by Betty Lee, a 61-year-old female, Sidney, MT, was traveling northbound on Highway 85. The Ford lost control as it negotiated the curve.
