The Montana Department of Revenue would like to remind businesses throughout the state that the deadline for submitting an annual unclaimed property report is November 1. Because November 1 is a Saturday, reports will still be accepted on November 3. Montana law requires businesses to submit the report if they are holding unclaimed property. Waterfowlers hunting from boats are encouraged to wear properly-fitted life jackets while on the water. North Dakota Game and Fish Department boat and water safety coordinator Nancy Boldt said there are hunting jackets available with life jackets already built in. “There are no excuses, they are light and comfortable to wear,” Boldt said. Eight people have drowned in state waters since 1998 while hunting from a boat, and none were wearing life jackets. Secretary of State and Chief Elections Officer Linda McCulloch announced on Tuesday a new way for citizens to register to vote for upcoming Montana elections including the November 4th General Election.
