    Brent Sanford's six-year term as Watford City mayor ended Dec. 9. A celebratory send-off at Door 204 followed an open house event for him that evening. Sanford will take the reigns as North Dakota's lieutenant governor on Thursday alongside governor-elect Doug Burgum. Burgum will present his inaugural address on Jan. 3, 2017.     To prevent further drug and alcohol abuse in the community, Sidney's Foundation for Community Care has purchased four prescription drug drop boxes and six alcohol testing devices with leftover funds from its Red Ribbon Week account.     The US Fish and Wildlife has just released their biological opinion supporting the fish bypass at Intake. According to the report all the latest science, including that of fish biologist Patrick Braaten, who has been studying Pallid sturgeon migration and has observed Pallid sturgeon using existing natural bypass channels, supports the building of a bypass designed to mimic those natural conditions.     The Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) announced today that in the last three months there have been 12 norovirus outbreaks in Montana that have sickened more than 250 people. This is three times the number of outbreaks usually reported during this time of year. Norovirus, a very contagious virus that can affect anyone, is the most common cause of gastroenteritis in Montana and the US.
