Walter and Susan Link were both born and raised right in Alexander, and returned in 1972 to the Link family farm to operate it.   • Industrial Accident At Border Steel, Sidney

    On Aug. 13, the Richland County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding an industrial accident that had occurred at Border Steel located SE of Sidney. Emergency responders arrived on scene and determined that an employee had been inadvertently run over by a trailer being towed by a commercial truck. The employee, James Dean McRae, 61, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. This matter is still under investigation.
