    The first annual Sidney Tennis Tournament is currently underway. It began Aug. 11 and goes until Sept. 29. Matches take place at the tennis courts which are located by the skate park. Matches are held Sunday nights from 6-9 p.m. There are also two Friday nights of play: Aug. 30, and Sept. 6. This tournament is a project to promote the sport of tennis in Sidney.   • Kringen Benefit Set For Sept. 14

    A benefit is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 14 to help support Kevin Kringen, a Sidney native, as he battles glioblastoma, a rare and incurable brain cancer for Saturday, Sept. 14. Diagnosed in late May, 2024, Kevin has undergone surgery and is now receiving chemo and radiation treatments in hopes of spending more precious time with his family.
