The MonDak Relay for Life event was held July 26 at the Richland County Fairgrounds. The Top team was the Love Birds from Fairview raising more than $12,500. They were followed by The Sharp Shooters raising more than $8,000 and Sidney Health Center raising $2,500. The top individual fundraiser was Kim Syth raising more than $6,500. Montana Governor Steve Bullock announced a $450,000 grant to be awarded to the Town of Bainville to provide necessary upgrades to their wastewater treatment facilities. The Sidney Tiger Sharks competed in the Glasgow Divisional 2013 swim meet this past weekend taking 66 swimmers and bringing home a 1st place with a score of 1207.5. Dr. Jan Knodel, NDSU Extension Entomologist, recently reported finding a relatively uncommon insect, cereal leaf beetle, feeding on barley and winter wheat in three new counties of North Dakota. These insects were found at the North Dakota Research Extension Center at Minot, in Burke County near Flaxton, and in Renville County near Mohall.
