The Fairview High School Class of 1983 is having their 30 year reunion in conjunction with the Old Timers Festival being held in Fairview beginning on Friday, July 19th, through Sunday, July 21st. The Richland County Sanitarian will be holding a one-hour food safety course for those workers serving food for community dinners, bake sales and other charitable events. Years of rising water, a record number of fishing lakes and aggressive fish management in North Dakota have helped produce fishing license sales. State law requires youngsters ages 12-15 to pass the course before they operate a boat or personal watercraft with at least a 10 horsepower motor. The North Dakota Cooperative Fur Harvester Education Program is sponsoring fur harvester education classes in Bismarck, Jamestown and Dickinson for anyone interested in trapping or hunting furbearers. Late spring storms and heavy rains throughout the planting season caused an estimated 4.4 million acres of cropland to go unplanted this year, based on an early estimate by USDA Farm Service Agency’s North Dakota State Office.
