Friends and neighbors of Gary and Travis Rindahl are putting on a benefit Oct. 8 at the Richland County Fair Event Center to help defray medical and travel costs for the family. Gary was diagnosed with stage 3 squamous cell carcinoma on Jan. 5. He had been in the Sidney hospital for pneumonia when they discovered the mass in his lung. It is in the left bronchia tube attached to his aorta so surgery is out of the question. Decorated beets need to be dropped off at The Powder Keg between now and Tuesday, October 11. The Li’l Wrangler Youth Rodeo Series wrapped up it finals on Aug. 14. This was the 6th year that the rodeo series has run in Watford City. The series consists of five rodeos throughout the summer bringing kids ranging from ages 1 yr old-8th grade. This season there were 91 kids coming from as far away as Bismarck and Velva. Since early September, several hundred people throughout the state have experienced vomiting, diarrhea and nausea lasting 24-48 hours. The deer is being processed for the Fellowship Food Pantry where members of the church donate wild game to the church pantry so that it can be given away all over the county.
