    The Richland County Health Department is announcing the availability of COVID-19 vaccine appointments for those who fall in Phase 1B of the vaccination plan. The first appointments are available beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 26. The vaccination plan was developed according to guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Montana Department of Health and Human Services, and was reviewed by the Board of Health on Jan. 12.     Helena - Jan. 12 - Samples taken in six eastern Montana counties this past summer have tested positive for the fungus that causes white-nose syndrome (WNS) disease in bats. The presence of the fungus Pseudogymnoascus destructans (Pd) does not necessarily confirm the presence of the disease, but biologists are closely monitoring the situation and further sampling and testing will be conducted.
