    The classic copper, gold and silver colors are making a one-year comeback at the University of Montana. On Friday, Nov. 21, UM released a limited-edition retail line featuring its official school colors of copper, gold and silver.   • Insects Drive Rapid Evolutionary Change In Plant Populations

    Results from a five-year study involving University of Montana plant ecologist John Maron suggest plants can evolve quickly to lose anti-insect defenses when those defensive traits are no longer needed. Maron collaborated on a study of evening primrose wildflowers in experimental plots growing in New York.   • Center At Um Receives $1.25 Million Grant To Fund Regional Environmental Health Education Program

    The Center for Environmental Health Sciences at The University of Montana recently received a five-year, $1.25 million Science Education Partnership Award from the National Institutes of Health. The grant will support environmental science education for 4,300 middle and high school students throughout Montana, Alaska and Idaho.
