Watford’s Badlands Gymnastics Club had their first 2022 competition at the Julie Ziegler Memorial gymnastics qualifier in Bismarck on Jan. 16-17. Well, the gymnasts of Badlands Gymnastics Club (BGC) did it again, surprising their head coaches Pat and Jan McWilliams with their toughness, tenacity, and bulldog determination; ND state meet in Fargo with three coveted State top three championship cups. Badlands Gymnastics Club went to Mandan for their second competition of 2021, improving team and individual performances, conquering several teams that had beaten them the week before at Bismarck. On March 7 and 8, one team from South Dakota, five teams from Montana, and twelve North Dakota teams for a total of eighteen, showed up at the Rough Rider Center for the second annual NoDak Northern Lights Invite hosted by Badlands Gymnastics of Watford City. A total of 250 athletes came in 2019, another 165 more for a total of 415 came for the 2020 version as the word gets out that Badlands puts on the best competition for miles and miles around. Sidney Gymnastics Club started the New Year off with a bang by bringing home two third place trophies from the Julie Ziegler Memorial Gymnastics Meet in Bismarck, ND on Saturday the fifteenth. For all intents and purposes, Sidney Gymnastics had the 2015-2016 Montana “debut” of its competition team at the State Gymnastics Championships held in Kalispell, MT on March 19th and 20th. During the general season, SGC competes primarily in North Dakota because the Montana gyms are all far away. But to get their routines in front of the Montana judges before the State Meet, SGC usually competes in Billings and Bozeman.
