    The United States Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) intends to test the flows coming from Fort Peck Dam in hopes it will benefit pallid sturgeon recruitment. The proposal originates from required Endangered Species Act consultation with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, who issued a "no jeopardy" biological opinion in April 2018 on the condition that the Corps pursues the test flow.     It doesn’t appear the legislature will meet their goal of concluding by Good Friday. With a few big ticket items still being negotiated, like Medicaid expansion, legislators will report for duty April 23rd after a short Easter recess. There are a number of bills still pending. These are bills that Montana Farm Bureau members have passed policy on at their local, county meetings and have been handed up to the state policy book for us to pursue.     This week was certainly one for the history books. Montana Farm Bureau celebrated its 100th birthday on February 13. It was only fitting to celebrate our 100th birthday at the Capitol building; it took an act of the State Legislature and the signature of Governor Sam V. Stewart on Senate Bill 30 in 1919 to allow the formation of Montana Farm Bureau. Originally, Montana Farm Bureau was the volunteer, grassroots organization under Extension Services.
