    Richland County’s flu season has begun with five residents testing positive for Influenza last week. The results were PCR confirmed for Influenza A at the Sidney Health Center Laboratory. One was hospitalized. The cases include four adults and one child. None of them were vaccinated. The symptoms of influenza are sudden onset of fever, chills, fatigue, body aches, headache, chest discomfort and a cough. A person may experience all or most of these symptoms.     Richland County’s 2017 Influenza season has increased with four positive Influenza A cases tested locally this past week. The confirmed results of the samples sent to MT State Public Health Lab showed Influenza A-Seasonal H3. The four cases are Richland County residents that range from age 5 to 67 years old.     State public health officials have identified the first case of Zika virus infection in Montana in an adult female from Missoula County who returned from a Zika-affected area. The infected individual is not pregnant. Zika is a disease caused by a virus that is spread to people primarily through the bite of an infected Aedes species of mosquito not found in Montana.
