On the evening of August 23, 2021, the Richland County Sheriff's Office received a report of a missing 2-year-old from a rural residence located west of Fairview. Subsequently it was determined that the child wandered away from the family residence. The Richland County Sheriff's Office received a call from a Franz Construction employee at about 9:01 AM, Wednesday 8/24/16 that a co-worker needed medical attention near a job site close to a breeched irrigation canal south of Sidney. Upon arrival by Emergency Medical Service and law enforcement, it was determined that the person needing medical attention was the victim of a criminal act.
